Photogravure came into being in the last quarter of 19th century, over one century’s development, ink bath and doctor blade were introduced into modern gravure print, which enabled the water based ink and varnish to be applied in gravure print easily, with the enhanced rheology, in contrast to the solvent based ink and varnish.
